Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s high-profile year continues. First came the unofficial movie, The Social Network. Then, a spot on “Saturday Night Live.” Now, the founder of the social networking site is featured on the cover of the latest issue of Mad magazine, with the headlined article “The 50 Worst Things About Facebook.”
You might be surprised that the social satire magazine is featuring the boy wonder, but Zuckerberg joins the ranks of other celebrities to have been honored with a cover, including Bart Simpson and two U.S. Presidents, Barack Obama and Richard Nixon.
TechCrunch gets some of the details behind the decision to honor Zuckerberg with a cover, and an amusing take on the magazine’s social media strategy, from Mad editor John Ficarro. The interview with Ficarro is a spoof, and includes the claim that the Winklevoss twins delivered a cool $2 million for the poke” by the magazine.
You can check out Mad‘s “worst things about Facebook” list when the magazine hits newsstands next week.
Readers, what do you think of Mark Zuckerberg latest media appearance?
Some of our favorite things to hate on Facebook about include:
#5 The devil and angel that appear on your shoulders as you debate whether to accept or ignore your grandmother’s friend request.
#11 Friends inviting you to view albums of parties you weren’t invite to.
#33 The depressing realization that, if Bigfoot does exist, he would be on Facebook now, too. But, since he’s not, case finally closed.
#42 Facebook’s regular, unannounced altering of privacy settings–which are slightly less difficult to undo than cracking the DaVinci Code.
We don’t want to give away the entire list, so do something crazy. Go buy yourself a copy of MAD.
